Motion is a relative term which deals with the states of a body. States of a body may be of two types: state of rest and state of motion. Again state is obserever dependent. Let us talk with an example. Consider you are standing on the road side. For you cars, buses, cycles, etc. which are travelling on the road are moving objects and are in the state of motion. On the other hand yourself, trees on the road side are in the state of rest or not moving.
