Societies recovering from wars and other traumas, can make a bad situation worse by focusing on blame or punishment. New models of adjudication and problem solving are emerging. Some communities are restoring long-standing healing and cleansing traditions. Others are creating Truth and Reconciliation Commissions to provide contact across previously insurmountable barriers of hostility. This can inspire traditional enemies to build a newly shared investment in the future. |
