An international Transaction Tax could help the global good by raising substantial funds to support the Millennium Devel- opment Goals set by the UN. New technology and communications systems as well as the Internet make it possible to collect the tax efficiently and make avoidance difficult. Disparities between rich and poor could be reduced and the poor would bear a smaller tax burden relative to their incomes. |
