As colleges and universities are investing significant funds, time and energy in technology for learning, during and post-COVID-19, there is a critical need to articulate the fundamental guiding principles to drive decisions and policymaking with respect to technology in learning. The following ten principles are intended to provide a guide for reflecting on the purpose and use of technology in learning.

When we integrate technology into our lessons or courses, we must ensure that it is meaningful and achieves the learning goals. As you may have realised, there are no easy universal ways of determining whether a particular use of technology is effective or not. Therefore, we can resort to technology integration models to guide our thinking and make technology choices that will be beneficial to our students.
