Mr. Kaylash Allgoo, O.S.K. is the Director of the Mauritius Qualifications Authority (MQA) which is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) in Mauritius. In addition the Authority is responsible to ensure compliance with provisions for registration and accreditation of training institutions throughout Mauritius, as well as to ensure that standards and registered qualifications are internationally comparable.


His current involvment as Strategic Project Lead RPL for the Commonwealth of Lerning (COL), an intergovernmental organisation, is providing leadership and initiating strategies for the promotion of RPL across member countries of Commonwealth Africa.


In addition, Kaylash is also the Chairman of the TQF Management Committee (TQFMC) for the Virtual University of the Small States of the Commonwealth (VUSSC). The TQFMC is responsible for the development of a Transnational Qualifications Framework (TQF). This project is an initiative from the Ministers of Education of Small States of the Commonwealth. Kaylash has attended and presented several papers at conferences and workshops worldwide on Qualifications Framework and Recognition of Prior Learning.


In March 2008, Kaylash received the prestigious award from the President of the Republic of Mauritius as Officer of the Star and Key of the Indian Ocean (O.S.K.) for his distinguished contribution to the education sector.


He is interested in sharing ideas, experiences and collaborate for the development of framework and also interested in learning more on Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and sharing the Mauritian experiences on RPL.
