Integration of Joomla and Moodle

A step by step technical guide by Ian Scott

Joomla and Moodle are two popular internet programs widely used in education, both programs are release under GNU 2.0. Joomla is use for it compressive ability as a Content Management System (CMS) while Moodle is used as a Learning Management System (LMS).

Why Integrate?

Moodle can be used alone but its interface is not slick and in does some things poorly, like enrolment forms. Joomla does CMS well but it lacks granular use control, there is a solution but it must be purchased and the purchased product is not a good as Moodle. Moodle is designed for student and teacher use from the ground up, you can create a class, place a teacher into that class and that's the only area they can control, simple and easy.
