Tip: Tips for a Successful Video Interview / Introduction
  • Look directly into the camera - no beady eyes, though!
  • Relax, don't speak too fast, look comfortably into the camera.
  • Consider how you sound / come across
  • Write up your remarks as bullet points (Comment.gif: DO NOT READ FROM A SCRIPT - I WILL BE ABLE TO SEE YOUR EYES MOVING FROM SIDE TO SIDE READING IT, AND YOUR VOICE TONE WILL NOT BE GOOD, AND YOU WILL APPEAR ROBOTIC AND WOODEN)
  • Rehearse out loud, watch yourself / hear inflexions in tone (mirror), pacing
  • Be enthusiastic smile if you can - and smile in your voice
  • Wear smart casual attire - no hoodies or sweatpants!
  • Don't sit on your bed OR do the video in your bedroom
  • Be aware of bad angles, poor lighting
