The OERu approach regarding software choice is to teach principles rather than specific software tools. There must always be a free and open source software alternative available in the event that specific software recommendations are made, or where learners are required to demonstrate software related skills.
Here is a list of possible desktop FOSS candidates for the course:
- GanttProject
- Calligra Plan
- ProjectLibre (Online tutorial)
- 2-Plan
- 2-Plan Desktop, a project-management system.
- 2-Plan Team, a web-based project management tool with multiple hosting options.
- Work 2-gether, a Scrum-based task management board for one-team projects.
