Complete the tasks listed below:

  • Prepare a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) that describes at least six (6) work packages for the project you are planning for.
  • Prepare a Project schedule (Gantt chart) that clearly illustrates the scheduling of the activities including the duration and dependencies. Your chart should also identify an end date, critical path and milestones.
  • Reflect on this process in your learning journal. Your entry should be a minimum of 100 words.

Rubric for work breakdown structure (WBS)

Criteria Marks
The WBS covers all of the jobs that are in scope for this project.
The effort required for all activities is specifically described.
There is a minimum of 6 work packages within your WBS.
All work packages will have enough detail to inform the schedule.

The WBS covers most jobs required to deliver everything in scope.
The amount of effort required is generally clear but some information may be missing.
There is a minimum of 6 work packages.
Most work packages will be broken down to a level that will inform a schedule.
2-3
The WBS omits significant parts of the work required.
It is not clear how much effort is required to complete the work described.
There are less than 6 work packages.
The work packages are not specific enough to allow the information to be transferred to a schedule.
