The Internet has become a vital global communication tool. Many mobile and fixed line operators have integrated services based on the Internet protocol. Such facilities have reduced the cost of international communication by reducing costs to those factored by local service providers since VoIP (voice over IP) and Internet telephony are based on local communication structures and are purely local costs and connections cannot be charged given that internatioal call routes are not by single carriers but an undefined assemblage of links from call source to sink.
