DEFINITION
Green Chemistry, also called 'sustainable chemistry is a chemical philosophy
encouraging the design of products and processes that reduce or eliminate
the use and generation of hazardous substances. It relies upon less
hazardous chemical synthesis, safer solvents and auxiliaries, design for
energy efficiency, safer chemistry and prevention is better than cure.
There are 12 principles of green chemistry which helps to explain what
the definition means in practice.
