The Learning4Content objective is to support wide adoption of the MediaWiki collaborative authoring environment, and rapidly build open educational resources on wikieducator. To meet this objective the following contracts are on offer.

Beginner

I will develop a single lesson plan with links to supporting resources on the Wikieducator service, ensuring that all content is:

• publishable using the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) or Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike (CC BY SA) license (refer to Wikieducator's guide to copyright);
• is to the best of my knowledge, correct and safe to use;
• is appropriately referenced, attributing original works and authors and;
• is checked for quality and accuracy by a colleague in the field

in return for Wikieducator providing:

One day training session in the use of basic authoring software and the Wikieducator platform

• personal contact with an experienced MediaWiki editor for guidance and technical assistance
• unrestricted use of training materials that assist in developing skills in the use of MediaWiki
• facilitating links to similar content and networking opportunities

Free hosting and content management

• maintaining reliable online availability of the resource along with all the Wikieducator features and services to support it
• copyright and meta data management
• Long term reusability and interoperability with emergent free software

Novice

I will develop at least 3 lesson plans with links to supporting resources that when combined could make up a course or unit of study on the Wikieducator service. I will ensure that:

• all content is publishable using the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) or Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike (CC BY SA) license (refer to Wikieducator's guide to copyright);
• the resources are to the best of my knowledge, correct and safe to use;
• the resources are appropriately referenced, attributing original works and authors and;
• the resources are checked for quality and accuracy by a colleague in the field

in return for Wikieducator providing:

Three day training session in the use of basic authoring software and the Wikieducator platform

• personal contact with an experienced MediaWiki editor for guidance and technical assistance
• unrestricted use of training materials that assist in developing skills in the use of MediaWiki

Free hosting and content management

• maintaining reliable online availability of the resource along with all the Wikieducator features and services to support it
• copyright and meta data management
• Long term reusability and interoperability with emergent free software

Facilitated network and collaborative relationships

• Networking and collaborative authoring relationships facilitated by the Commonwealth of Learning and Wikieducator administrators

Expert

I will develop a number of courses or units of study, that comprise of several lesson plans and supporting resources on the Wikieducator service. I will ensure that all content is:

• publishable using the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) or Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike (CC BY SA) license (refer to Wikieducator's guide to copyright);
• is to the best of my knowledge, correct and safe to use;
• is appropriately referenced, attributing original works and authors and;
• is checked for quality and accuracy by a colleague in the field

in return for Wikieducator providing:

Five day training session in the use of a range of multi media authoring software and all features of the Wikieducator platform

• Personal contact with an experienced MediaWiki editor and media developer for guidance and technical assistance through to the level of expert
• Unrestricted use of training materials that assist in developing novice skills in the use of wikieducator
• Networking opportunities with authors of similar content and experts in similar field

Hosting and content management services

• maintaining reliable online availability of the resource along with all the Wikieducator features and services to support it
• copyright and meta data management
• Long term reusability and interoperability with emergent free software

Facilitated networking and collaborative relationships

• Networking and collaborative authoring relationships facilitated through the Commonwealth of Learning

Digitaisation of analogue materials

• Wikieducator will facilitate access to digitisation of analogue media services
