Recipients of the Teacher for Learning badge have explored how we learn and what we can do to ensure learning environments are effective. They have considered strategies for designing significant learning experiences that are grounded in and informed by research principles that foster student learning in specific contexts.
Criteria Required for Badge Assessment:
- Identify a concept that is often misunderstood in my discipline and create an analogy to help make sense of it
- Create a concept map of a syllabus for a course I teach
- Practise my note-taking skills
- Brainstorm a “What’s in it for me?” list, from a learner perspective
- Identify a concept in my discipline that is like driving a car, and specify the component skills that are required to master this concept or skill
- Find a 'nugget' and make it as meaningful as possible
- Convey a metaphor for teaching and learning
- Reflect on the module experience
