Lecture Delivery Plan:

1.Review questions from reading 'Crime in South Africa' from last weeks session - also results from surveying tourists to New Zealand activity. What motivated different sectors?

2.Hospitality - work through wiki page categories - students to list as many types as they can classification - physical amenities and features

3.Grading

  • - benefits to consumer- select accommodation with confidence, improve assurance of 'value for money', assist to differentiate between vast number of product categories
  • - benefits to operator - improve performance, consistent and uniform standards, improve and monitor competiive performace, marketing tool, eliminate undesirable products, benchmarking
  • - to New Zealand - improve competitiveness in international market, assist with promotion, improve quality and performance, uniformity and compatibility for data collection and analysis, framework for minimum measurable standards
