To evidence competencies, the learning process has to be clear from the beginning of the ePortfolio. After the purpose and context of the ePortfolio is clear, the learner has to know which evidence is required or desired by the audience(especially in a presentational ePortfolio). Once the learner has chosen appropriate evidence and compiled the ePortfolio, they can then save them as artifacts.

- evaluations by former teachers/trainers
- multimedia evidence
