Discourse on the mind

The mind... consciousness... being able to talk and communicate with other minds...

Having an effect on other minds...

Humans can verbally convey emotions. i.e. "I am feeling..." or "I feel like..."

No other animal that we know of is capable of doing this.

What gives rise to this? --- What gives rise to the mind?

The mind is attached to the body, it is typically thought. The brain - is one organ in a human body. It is capable of abstractions and expericing emotions....

Is the mind attached to the body?

The mind can claim that it feels good or bad about it's body. i.e. "I like my body." "I like the way my body looks." or "I don't mind the way my body looks". or the mind can say that it would like certain things about its body to be different. i.e. "I would like to weigh more or less" " I would like to have more muscle and less fat" or "I would like to be able to run faster" - or "I would like it if my skin was more tan"....
