Checklist BEFORE submitting

Your resource will be reviewed by the facilitators, and must be approved before the badge will be awarded. Please work through this checklist BEFORE uploading your resource for review:

  1. Does your resource contain a minimum of two openly licensed images you found on the Internet?
    • If there is no licence statement on the website where you found the image, it is all rights reserved and doesn't qualify as OER. Submitting images that are not openly licensed is a breach of copyright.
  2. Is there a complete and correct attribution using TASL for every image contained in the submission?
    • You must hyperlink to the original source of the image (not just the general website where you found the image, but the actual link where you can download the image. Test the hyperlink before submitting. If it doesn't go directly to the image, you will not qualify for the badge.)
    • You must state and hyperlink to the correct open licence.
  3. Did you check for remix compatibility of the images included in your resource? For example:
    • you cannot remix CC-BY-SA with CC-BY-NC-SA resources;
    • you cannot adapt or modify a resource with a 'No Derivatives' (ND) restriction.
  4. Does your resource contain a copyright statement with an OER open licence?
    • In the absence of an open licence for the resource you submitted, it is probably all rights reserved and not considered an OER.
    • For example: "© 2021. Name of copyright holder goes here This resource is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence (or insert an alternate, compatible open licence)."

Upload your resource and earn a badge

When you are satisfied that your resource is of a suitable quality, you are invited to upload it to the DS4OERS Moodle site.

See Upload a learning challenge resource for instructions.

Your resource will be reviewed by a teacher on the course. This may take some time, depending on the time-zone the teacher is working in, but will typically be done within 24 hours if received on a working day.

If approved:

  • Your resource will be shared with other learners in Moodle
  • You will be awarded the OER Image Badge
