The D. A- V. College, Kanpur was established on 11th July 1919.The vision and mission of the Institution have been in tune with the philosophy of Swami Dayanand Saraswati, the founder of Arya Samaj. The Intitution played a pivotal role in the freedom movement of the country.In the days of national freedom movement mainy prominent freedom fighters like Shaheed Bhagat Singh, Shaheed Chandra Shekar Azad and Shri Shiv Verma had taken shelter in the Institution premises. At persent,the student strength of the Institution is exceeding 22000 and the Instituton offers post-graduate courses and research facilities in 28 subjects. The College is run under the supervision and guidance of our principal Dr. A. K. Saxena who is also the General Secretary ( outstation ) of National Science Congress. The Institution has a teaching faculty of 400.
