Overview
The main goal of an informative speech is to increase audience understanding of ideas, change their perceptions, and/or help them learn new skills. In this pathway, we look at how to motivate audiences by framing topics in relevant, useful, and interesting ways. Understanding your audience, including their diverse knowledge, learning preferences, interests, and cultural contexts, is crucial to developing effective, ethical informative speeches.
You will also have an opportunity to apply your learning by creating an informative audience-centred presentation.
