within the field of Mental/Behavioral health... and many HEALTH professions there is CONFIDENTIALLY.

UNDER HIPAA - clinicians are obligated to maintain client/patient records in certain ways.

in some jurisdictions under mental/behavioral health all information told to the practitioner/clinician must be kept confidential.

there are certain exceptions. this may vary from district to district.
