Request for Learning Materials
Here is a sample letter, to request donations of learning materials for use in, and by the WikiEducator community. Please feel free to copy and paste it, to support your Request for Learning Materials.
Greetings!
I hope you're doing well.
I am involved in a really cool project - called WikiEducator – www.wikieducator.org
Our objective is to create open and free education resources – primarily for developing countries. We are using a wiki to do this (similar to Wikipedia).
WikiEducator is supported by The Commonwealth of Learning (www.col.org) and leaders in education. WikiEducator provides a free and open source platform for the collaborative development of open educational resources. These open and distance learning (ODL) resources support educational opportunities in developing countries, and throughout the world.
Recently, WikiEducator received a $100K grant from the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation to train 2,500 educators in wiki skills in 52 Commonwealth countries.
Would you be interested in making your learning materials available to the WE community?
How it works:
You contribute your educational materials to WikiEducator. These could be:
- Lesson plans
- Handouts
- Case Studies
- Handouts / Guides for Teachers
Members of the WikiEducator community:
- provide you with attribution (according to your wishes);
- adapt and localise your educational materials – using WikiEducator - in a culturally-sensitive and appropriate manner
