Bangalore, as a city is increasingly being imagined only by a very narrow section of its inhabitants. This has resulted in physical manifestations like demolition of lung spaces in the city, constant road widening, building of a sky train, etc (on an overall city basis). On the other hand, at a micro level (smaller areas and individual), localities are changing due to migration, new inhabitants, as well as changing demands from local governance. There are tensions afoot; tensions of cultural invasion, regional chauvinism, attacks against women etc.
Maraa hopes to study, document and use these subtle every changing nuances towards building the archives of the "invisible city" as well as to undertake the challenging task of rethinking communities.
