Target date: 30 March 2007
- Publish procedure and development support resources on the wiki
The Development Process
Stage 1. WikiEducator Design
The CCNC project curriculum will be published using this CCNC Home Page on WikiEducator.
1.1. Analyse existing content
Analyse the existing content and perform a mapping exercise, looking for gaps and issues with existing content. See Milestone 3 of the CCNC project for further details of this stage.
Output: A gap analysis and estimate of the effort and approaches required to re-develop the content. Discuss with your project team.
1.2. Establish and set up necessary software base.
The ICDL is vendor independent, however the CCNC will base its examples on the following software:
- Open Office V2.0
- Firefox Browser V2.0
- Evolution email client V2.8.X
- Ubuntu 6.10 (Edgy Eft)
This is packaged as "standard" with the Ubuntu desktop release. CCNC developers are requested to download and install Ubuntu 6.10, which contains all the software listed above.
Output: Software set up for Open Office V2.0 on required platform
1.3. Use the CCNC Module design templates.
Start by using the Module pages which have already been set up for you. From your Module page, create further section and sub-section pages, using the wiki new page syntax starting your new link with [[/.... The '/' will ensure your pages become 'child' pages of the current page - creating relationships between the pages - and will also ensure you have a trail of links at the top of your page for users to click back (also known as breadcrumb trails).
Note: we are basing our content on Version 2.0 of Open Office.
Output: Content developed in a format for WikiEducator (for final publication as .pdf files)
- Subject-matter review
- Community review / user testing
- Peer review
1.5. Project Quality Assurance tasks performed
This is an overall review to ensure consistency across all the modules.
Stage 2. ELearning Design
1.5 Instructional Designers re-design content into an interactive format for eXe.
