Why do we need this category?

I have no idea who is using it to track what, and given the ubiquity of the template, I doubt whether the category still serves its original purpose. But I may well be wrong, so thanks for any explanation. --Daniel Mietchen 15:55, 5 August 2010 (UTC)

I suppose it is a workaround for the broken LiquidThreads implementation. People have started putting discussions (often using formatting to indicate threading) on pages to make sure they get watch list notifications. This category gives some hints about where those are if anyone really wants to track them down or follow along.

Daniel,

In the early days of WE -- the idea was to use the "Note" Template for in-text comments among course development teams with automatic categorisation of pages with editorial comments. Not a terribly smart solution but a legacy from a fledging project back in the days when we had less than 100 users ;-)
