Learning in Games used instead of the more familiar "Learning Games" because it is less generic. Learning Games are games that were specifically used to support learning. It is however possible to support learning with games that were not specifically designed for that purpose. It is also possible to complete an however dry lesson with activities that take the form of interactive mini-games (on whiteboard or devices).

"in" was chosen instead of "with" as a reference to the artificial world (here game world) that the learner is in.
