There are various kinds of metals is the world . Human produce a lot of instrument by using these metals . Previous lesson. We have learned some instrument which are made by metals. Ex: hammer Everyday we are using so many instruecument which are made by metals. Because of these case it is very important to study about metals. Using these knowledge . We can select sutabel utensils and other instruments which we need for our day to day life. Fromthis unit you can learn about various kinds of metals and characteristics of metals.

What is metal

You can see various kind of instruments in your home. Touch and see theseOne by one. You can see some of them are very hard some of them are nothard some are thick and hard. Now hit these every thing one by one. Some of them are getting sound ‘Tic…Tic’..Some of them are getting sound ‘TinTin…’or ‘TocToc…’ Often ‘Tin.. Tin’ sound is giving by metals. Metals are very hard. When We hit these it give Tin… Tin… or any other hard sound. When we polis a Metal it will become shin. But after some days we cannot see the shine on it. Take two metal spoons, and hit to each other. It will give ‘Tin. .Tin’. .sound. Take a metal spoon and a plastic spoon and hit each other. Now you cannot Hearer tin tin sound .Plastic wooden are difference from each other .If some one Hit you by a metal bar you will feel pain. Now you can understand what is metal.

Now you know about metals. .Metals are hard .It can polish .After some daysThe shine cannot see on it. Now take one metal spoon and try to bend and hammer it. Metal can bendand hammer. In the middle of every wire you can see a metal string , the electricity travel across this metal thread. Take a metal bar and put one corner in to fire . After some time touch and see the other corner .Some time you cannot touch this corner , it is very warm.
