CTVSD5/Design/What
Learning supports are the resources, strategies and practices needed to support your learner to meet the desired outcomes.
You can find out about your learner cohort by having a conversation with individual learners or asking them to fill in a survey. If your course is online, you can ask some questions in a discussion forum and encourage communication between like minded learners. Ask questions about their experiences with learning, how they like to learn and any life circumstances that could prevent them from learning. Make it a safe space by assuring your learner that there are no wrong answers and it is simply about getting to know them better.
When we train in industry it is essential that you provide timely and constructive feedback to your learner. You are able to demonstrate and observe their skills in a workplace environment. They will also learn from others in the workplace. Allocating a workplace mentor can be beneficial to the learner as they have someone that they can share their concerns and celebrate their success.
