Fill in the blanks can be used to create longer text-based questions where the student is required to type or drag the correct response into the blank space. This is a good way of making sure the learner is reading the whole text to understand the context. Make sure that the missing words are relevant to the message that you are conveying.
Fill in the blank (or short answer questions) allow the students to process the answer without any prompts that other question types may give.
