Examples of OER in TVET
Video
- The Electric Academy-Videos built for Electricians and Electrical Technicians. Every video carries a Creative Commons CC-BY license.
- Trades Tutor-Videos built for Plumbers.
Online Textbooks
- Trigonometry and Single Phase AC Generation for Electricians-This Textbook includes embedded videos and worksheets
- Math for Trades: Volume 1-This textbook was designed with universal design for learning principles in mind. There is audio attached to every chapter as well as videos explaining key concepts.
- Basic Electricity-This book contains video, interactive elements, and quiz sets for formative assessments.
Simulations
- Phet Simulations-These Open source simulations are built for STEM classes (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). Many other educators have added labs that can be used alongside these simulations.
- Examples of PHET Labs-These are labs built based off of the PHET simulations. These are built in Google docs and carry a CC-BY license.
H5P.org examples
- Interactive video-This video stops at various points to test the student's knowledge. This can use any YouTube video or any uploaded video to add questions or annotations at any point in the video.
- Image hotspot-By clicking on the "+" symbols on the images, students can call up more pertinent and important information.
- Quiz set-A set of questions that can be multiple-choice, fill in the blank, drag and drop, or order.
- Interactive presentation-The "PowerPoint" allows for embedded videos and questions throughout the presentation.
