Support

Resources support learners by providing them with the information on they need to know about as part of their course.

Videos and presentations are great resources for learners who like to see and experience more than words on a page. Everyone has preferred learning styles in which they learn new skills and information and you can learn more about those in the Clarifying Support course. By choosing a range of resources you are supporting a range of learners to gather the information required to successfully complete their course.

Engage

Resources can be created in different ways to engage learners. Narrative is a strong engagement tool in the creation of resources. Learners need to see what it is they are doing reflected back at them from the real world or a real workplace. They need to know what it will be like to take what they are learning and apply it after they have completed the course. This can be done by telling stories and showing examples of the process required to complete the task. It can be used in all forms of resources from video to writing to presentation. Imagine using a character to engage the learners with, to draw them into a story and get them emotionally involved in what happens to the character. The learners can be prompted to help the character make decisions and guide them as they learn.
