Learning through experience and reflection
This course is designed following the principles of experiential learning. Experiential learning (ExL) is the process of learning through experience, and is more specifically defined as "learning through reflection on doing". You will be guided to design your own assessments and as you are designing them you will be learning and reflecting on your experience and practice.
Open educational resources
An important feature of this course is that it uses Open Educational Resources and open access materials. Open Educational Resources (OER) are digital materials that are freely available to educators, students and self/lifelong learners. OER are increasingly being integrated into open and distance education as they are not subject to the same restrictive copyright constraints as other materials. This course materials are based entirely on OER, therefore you will not incur any costs for using, re-using or repurposing them for your own use or sharing them with others.
