Whether you are experienced in designing competency-based assessments or brand new to it there is no better way of learning or improving a skill than practicing it. This part of the course is all about doing and learning as we do, so you will need a project to work on. If you are currently working on a new course or are reviewing and redeveloping a course that could be the perfect project to work on. As you go through the assessment design process step by step, you will be provided with templates and supporting resources to help you complete the activities and design assessments to be completed online and at the workplace or in a simulated workplace environment.
On successful completion of your project you will:
- Understand the main assessment types and design assessments for them.
- Understand and apply the principles of assessment to design competency-based assessments.
- Understand the different approaches and methods to competency-based assessments and select those that best fit your course.
- Design competency-based assessments for online and workplace or a simulated workplace context.
