Purpose


  • To understand and be able to define the term culture.
  • Identify and explain what factors constitute culture and
  • to examine and explain how cultures change over time.

Tasks



  1. Locate and briefly research sources on what the term 'culture' means. Write a definition of culture and explain what factors constitute culture in around 50-100 words.
  2. Select a state within the Asia-Pacific (you can revisit the compiled list we developed in e-learning activity 2.1 in order to select a state). Begin researching information on the culture/s present in your selected state. You should explore and report on the cultures in the state and if/how they have changed over time.
  3. Write a summary of your findings (250-500) with full citation details of your sources.

Learning outcome actions


  1. Using the 'E-learning Activity and Personal Reflection e-Portfolio', upload your definition described in Step 1) and your summary described in Step 3) above. This should be completed no later than the close (Friday) of Week 8.
  2. Please enter any useful online sources you accessed during this e-learning activity into the Regional Relations Source Repository located on the Study Desk.
  3. The e-moderator will add an overview of the comments after the closing date for submissions.
