Digital citizenship (LiDA102) is one of four micro-courses for Learning in a digital age. This micro-course explores the rights and responsibilities of digital citizens in the context of tertiary learning. By working through the material you will gain a good understanding of the interplay among digital environments, your digital identity and the digital identities of others. Digital citizenship represents a constant tension between the potential of digital media for social good and the threat of misuse and appropriation. Consequently we also explore number of societal issues and problematic online behaviours against the potential of digital technology for the future of learning and the workplace.

Learning in a digital age micro-courses

There are four micro-courses which make up Learning in a digital age:

LiDA101 Digital literacies for online learning
LiDA102 Digital citizenship
LiDA103 Open education, copyright and open licensing in a digital world
LiDA104 Critical media literacies and associated digital skills

Digital citizenship (LiDA102) comprises about 40 hours of learning effort made up of about 20 -25 hours of online learning with the balance spent on preparing the final assessment for those learners seeking certification.
