Educational leadership is management or leadership in educational settings


Education

Educational leadership draws upon interdisciplinary literature, generally, but ideally distinguishes itself through its focus on pedagogy, epistemology and human development. In contemporary practice it borrows from political science and business. Debate within the field relates to this tension.

About Me

  • Kafui founded the Winneba Linux Users Group (WiLUG) which seeks to focus on developing programs to train students at the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) to promote Open Source Technologies in educational capacity building programs. He currently manages the group as the Team Leader and seeks to develop it to become the beacon of hope for Applications of Free and Open Source as well as Low Cost Technologies for Educational practice in Africa and beyond.
  • He also co-founded the African Youth Initiative which was later supported by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) to be the African Youth ICT4D Network. AYIN is a networked generation of young Africans empowering themselves through ICTs and contributing to the continent's participation in the Information Society
  • He is also involved in Managing the University of Education,Winneba in Ghana's ICT Center.

His leadership of OVF Ghana has led to several notable accomplishments. He designed the:

1. Catch IT Young - low cost ICT Education program that builds capacities of students and teachers in pre-tertiary schools in Southern Ghana using ICT professionals as volunteers

2. Winneba Open Digital Village (WODiV ) – Open Digital Villages (ODiVs are community focused development initiatives, driven by a combination of Open Source, Open Hardware and Wireless Technologies and geared to promote community oriented sustainable development. Kafui is now focusing his efforts on implementing this project with the support of oneVillage Foundation.

3. Sports People That Care Program – which provides care and support for People Living HIV/AIDS and children orphaned by AIDS through sports.
