Summary

Description Known to kids as a "roly poly," a pillbug is in the millipede family. Unlike similar-looking sow bugs, pill bugs can roll their bodies into a round shape as a defense mechanism. Their family name, Armadillidiidae, refers to their similar appearance to armadillos.
