Summary

Description Lapita pottery sherd from excavations at Bourewa, Fiji directed by Pattrick Nunn, 2007-2008. Bourewa is believed to be the earliest (founder) settlement in the Fiji Islands, and dating from around 3050 cal BP (1100 BC). This image is a studio shot of the large fragment of intricately decorated Lapita pottery found in Pit A7A.
