Junior English – Year 10

Introductory Unit – ‘Reach For the Top’

NOTES to NOTE:

  • It is important, at this time, that expectations w.r.t. a reading programme, spelling/vocab programme, journal writing are established clearly. Action English books are a useful resource to get underway as well.
  • This unit is fairly self-explanatory. All tasks are stand-alone and focused on either group or individual work, with plenty of opportunity for discussion with new students. Use as many or as few as you wish.
  • There are no formal assessment tasks in this diagnostic unit. You might perhaps like to turn a piece of writing into an assessed task.
  • All of this stuff is to be found on the shared drive is you wish to adapt for your own individual classes.
