TOURISM 202 - TOU202

PRE-REQUISITES
Any students with reasonable Level 1 grades may study Tourism at this level. Year 11 Geography is an advantage.
CONTENT
A course based on the study of the following themes:
- Work/career roles in the Tourism Industry.
- A study of New Zealand and World Travel Destinations.
- The history of tourism.
- Tourist characteristics.
- The business of tourism.
- Environmental impacts of tourism.
ASSESSMENT
25 Level 2 Unit Standards cover the compulsory component of the Level 2 National Certificate in Introductory Skills in Travel and Tourism. All units are internally assessed.
COST
$10.00 for duplicating.
FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
Tourism in Year 13 and/or Tertiary providers to complete their Diploma with credits already gained in a number of units. A range of employment possibilities exist in the Tourism industry.
