Equal opportunities
All your customers should be treated equally/fairly irrespective of their:
- race;
- gender;
- age;
- religion;
- cultural background;
- mental or physical ability;
- sexual orientation.
There are laws and conventions that protect people from discrimination and victimisation, because of who they are.
Do you have any law that makes it an offence for women and men to be treated differently when they are provided with facilities and services? As long as you treat all people equally you will not need to worry too much about the law because you can be confident that you are not discriminating against anyone.
Disability awareness and discrimination
If you practise customer care & service excellence you will always
- want to make sure that you are aware of the disabilities of your customers;
- avoid discrimination against any customer who has a disability.
In addition, you know that disabled people are protected from unfair treatment by law.
