My team, WikiRiders, is participating in the Bike 2 CAP AIDS Bike-a-thon Campaign 2010 on Jun 20, 2010 8:00 AM at Ottawa (Vincent Massey Park, Ottawa).

The [Bike 2 CAP AIDS Bike-a-Thon Campaign is a fun-filled, family-friendly way for Canadians to make a difference in the deadly serious fight against HIV AIDS in Africa .

In 2010, the Bike 2 CAP AIDS Bike-a-thon Campaign has two practical and important goals:

  1. 170 local African heroes will be supported with a new bicycle and other supports. With a sustainable and affordable means of transportation, these local heroes can provide HIV AIDS prevention, care, and support services to 5 times as many people, and have a much bigger impact;
  2. 130 AIDS-orphaned African youth will be provided with vocational skills training. With a skilled vocation, orphaned youth can gain employment, earn a better living, rebuild their confidence, and care for their younger siblings.

Together, by achieving these goals we will make a direct, grassroots contribution in the fight to resist, survive and overcome AIDS.
