Happy UPE winner for November 2014!

Dr. Ramesh Sharma and Dr. Nellie Deutsch have featured my profile for User Page Expo Award for November. I'm very happy and have renewed the agreement for my learning contract.

WikiBuddy certification guidance week 23.04.2012

  • I'm in contact with peer educators and have recommended them to sign up as a member in WikiEducator, but I don't know if I fulfilled 'Adopt-a-User'. I have also invited them to use me as their eMentor.. not yet been able to 'Provide evidence of demonstrating WikiEducator to a friend showing how it works'. Any ideas or suggestions? I would love do build a national team for Bulgaria. --SwedInBalchik 16:00, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Hi Jonas,

Warm Greetings! I highly appreciate your plan to build a national team for Bulgaria! Now select a newbie and guide him/her through the basic wiki editing skills. You can do it by way of adding simple instructions on the newbie's user/talk. In this way you will be able to start adopting a user. You may also visit at least two content pages of your choice on WikiEducator and add your comments/feedback on the content on the connected discussion pages.

Warm regards

Thank you Anil,

I will have some time this weekend to follow your instructions and add the content for my professional development course 'Certified Networked Teacher' (#CNT12) to the eXe framework and WikiEducator. --SwedInBalchik 05:37, 27 April 2012 (UTC)

I only got started today, but will complete some more tomorrow. I have now learned how to use eXe, but just realized WikiEducator only implements the eXe iDevice scheme. I will create my course in WikiEducator with pedagogical templates and then try to export it in mediawiki format to WikiBooks. I still don't understand if the course still will be compatible with SCORM (to make it interoperable on platforms and the web)--SwedInBalchik 15:33, 28 April 2012 (UTC)

If you want to experiment with WikiEducator content in a learning management system, there are two options:

  1. Use an IFrame in the LMS page that pulls in live content from WikiEducator. The Links item in the navigation Toolbox is designed to simplify this.
  2. You can experiment with the tool that allows packaging a snapshot of a book "collection" in IMS Content Package or IMS Common Cartridge form.

Hi Jim, I saw your tool for packaging and red about your workflow with OpenOffice to export in MediaWiki wikitext format.

Hi Balqis,

I have created an institutional hub for eduToolkit and would love you to volunteer in the development of Certified Networked Teacher. The initial content is already 'live' on P2PU, find out more here!

Hi Balqis,

I'm working on WikiBuddy level, but need more information about 'adopt a user'. Does it mean get a new sign-up, if so how can I prove this came from me?

SwedInBalchik (talk)22:31, 30 March 2012

 Hi Jonas,
I am also working on the same level but almost completed my skills in this level .I have adopted two users on Wikieducator .I think adopting means helping some one who wishes to join this platform by giving assistance in editing or guiding them in doing so ! I hope so but has to get more clarification. You can record the event or ask the user to leave a note on your page ,thus we can let to know these users are adopted by us .Let me get it clear from the seniors on WE.
Best Regards
Balqis

Skill Badges for Mozilla Open Badges Project

I'm trying to get our first three modules regarding the concept of ‘The Networked Teacher’ accepted for the open badges project:

Certified Networked Teacher – Use of Web Tools in Networked Learning
Advanced Networked Teacher – Syndicated Education in Distributed Learning Environments
Expert Networked Teacher – Central Node in Learning Networks
SwedInBalchik (talk)06:45, 27 February 2012

The first online course #CNT12 is in the pipeline for 16/4-4/5, we will link the WikiEducator tutorial using eXe learning tools to a Challenge at P2PU. The badge will then be valid in the Mozilla Open Badge Framework.

Congratulations

Hi Jonas,

Congratulations on earning the Wiki Apprentice 2 certification. I saw your request for Level 1, but you have clearly demonstrated the skills for Level 2. No need to step through them one-by-one if you've moved beyond.

Your work in the Edu Toolkit is quite interesting. Thank you for your commitment to create an online course for use by teachers. I suspect you've been reading about the current work in support of a new certification paradigm by the OERu. Your efforts seem very much in line.

Good luck with your continuing work in WikiEducator. Let me know if I can be of help in some way.

Your WikiNeighbor, Alison
