embedding video

Hi I have a video file that I have been asked to embed and I am wondering if I am allowed.

It is available from so.gov.au/titles/documentaries/lore-love/clip3/

Thanks Sue

At present WikiEducator only supports embedding videos from the Wikimedia Commons and Vimeo. (Videos on YouTube can be linked with a placeholder poster frame, which is replaced with an embedded copy in OERu partner snapshots.)

(The so.gov.au hostname does not resolve for me... so that particular video may also require being on a particular network which would be a separate problem, even if it were openly licensed.)

Hi Jim,

Thank you for that information.

another question is it possible to rename a page after it has been created in the wikieducator? if it is could you please give me some instructions on how to do this.

If I cannot rename pages could you give me instructions on how to delete the page.

Thanks

Move menu item on WikiEducator

Since the "name" of the page in Mediawiki also forms its URL address, Mediawiki talks about moving pages rather than renaming them. Move is in the dropdown menu in the "action menu" at the top right of the page. It will prompt you for a new page name (and by default it will leave behind a "redirect" which means people using the old name will get transparently bounced to the new page).

Deleting pages on WikiEducator is rare. It is difficult to be sure what resources are already being used somewhere else. In the case of pages that consist only of spam/vandalism or a (typically single) author wants the page deleted, we ask that people use Template:Delete to mark the page for review and we periodically go through and cull those pages. Simply put:

{{Delete}}

in the body of the wikitext on the page.
