My name is Xavier and I work in Telefonica I+D, the research and development branch of Telefonica, the global telephone service operator.
I am based in the nice city of Barcelona in the Mediterranean coast of Spain.
I did study engineering, back in the 60’s, and I have been lucky enough to work with computers since they were created: large machines with less computational power, less memory and less storage capacity than the Palm that I have today in my pocket ...
In Telefonica R&D I am responsible for innovation strategies for Internet and multimedia services.

My interests

I'm interested in:

• Collaborative tools for learning and teaching.
• Social networking techniques as motivational tools for young people education.
• Use of personalization and recommendation automatic tools in educational platforms.
