WELCOME to CIS 2 - Computers and the Internet in Society - starts Monday - first day of the quarter

A critical examination of the capabilities and uses of the Internet, computers and cellular communications, and how they are changing business, law, politics, health, education, entertainment, and society.


Your account for the DeAnza Online Course CIS 2: Computers and the Internet in Society will be ready to use Monday, the first day of the quarter. On Monday, please log in. See the information below for instructions.


GETTING STARTED

This is an ONLINE asynchronous course. There are NO on-campus meetings. There are no required online meeting times. Assignments are due at 11:30 pm on the due date for each module as specified in the Syllabus. See the Syllabus for the Online Office hour time and day.

Please review the Online Education Center information for Students.

You are REQUIRED to participate in the online class activities such as discussions and group project work in addition to doing the individual assignments. You must be able to access and participate several times per week. DAILY access to the course is strongly recommended.

The course is divided into modules. Be sure to read the Assignments for each module. The assignments, quizzes, discussions and other module activities are listed.

Assignments - overviews, descriptions, activities, discussion prompts, references, etc. are listed together on separate web pages for each Module. Links to the module pages are located in the Modules outline section with all the links for that module. To display the Modules outline, click on the Modules link in the left navigation menu on the main course page.


A welcome message has been posted inside the course. Please proceed to Assignments for module 1. Introduction. Then visit the discussion and introduce yourself to the class.

Assignments are due at 11:30 pm on the due date. All activities for that module are due. Check the Syllabus for due dates for each course module.
