About Unirivercity

I am a full-time print and web editor who works with a team to develop and produce examinations and distance education courses at a university in a small city on the banks of two rivers: Thompson Rivers University, Open Learning, in Kamloops, BC, Canada.

I have an undergraduate degree in English from UBC, acquired many years ago before the Internet was a twinkle in Tim Berners-Lee's eye. I also have a Print Futures diploma in editing and workplace writing and editing from Douglas College. Before I became a knowledge worker, I studied journalism and spent six years in the film industry.

After completing four courses in the Master of Education (Distance Education) program, I transferred to the Master of Education program at Thompson Rivers University, where I completed a TESL (teaching English as a second language) certificate in 2010. Six credits left to go before I get another academic credential...

I'm Interested In:

  • Learning to use blogs, wikis, and OERs to inform my developing teaching practice; learning more software, period!
  • Sharing knowledge, experiences, and resources with others in the WikiEducator community
