Cheryl C. Todd

Campus Computing Specialist-Assistive Technology Liaison-First Year Experience Instructor Technology Services Department Meredith College

I have been working as a member of the Technology Services Department of Meredith College for 7 years. Our team of Campus Computing Specialists, support faculty utilization of technology in the higher education learning environment. We offer technical support and training options on the standard load software to staff, faculty and students.

I also teach a technology based First Year Experience Class to freshmen students each fall where we explore the use of Wikis, Second Life, and Assistive Technologies; in addition to the base FYE curriculum.

In addition, I serve as the Assistive Technology Liaison for Disability Services. So an essential part of my job is to partner with the decision makers in IT, Marketing, Printing Services, etc. and make sure accessibility is understood. Through training, these entities can learn to create accessible documents and media and accept the concept of Universal Design. Hopefully, it will become second nature to them and they will design and create with accessibility in mind.
