My profile

I am hard working and determined person with desire for continuous personal growth. I always like to have new abilities and skills, which I can share with other people. I enjoy working with people, who are able to lead and to be led. I become more motivated when I succeed and more curious when I don’t. I am currently interested in adding e-learning into my professional and career development.

Professional background

I am an Extension Educator in the Diploma in Mass Communication programme at the Institute of Extra Mural Studies (IEMS), National University of Lesotho (NUL). I have been facilitating in several media related courses with the programme since I joined the Institute in 2007.

I first worked as a television series producer at the Lesotho Television (LTV) section of the Lesotho National Broadcasting Services (LNBS) in the Ministry of Communication, Science and Technology from September 1997 until May 2005. When involved, I was in charge of field camera crew during programme production processes, editing and transmission rundown. My responsibilities included investigating news leads, preparing reports for news broadcast, determining and providing daily TV coverage on national and community events.

Education

I hold MA in Cultural and Media Studies from the University of Natal, South Africa in 2003. My research work was on the Lesotho Media Policy as it effected liberalisation of the broadcasting sector of telecommunications. I obtained BA (Hons) also in Cultural and Media Studies from the same university in 2001. My first university certificate is in B. Ed, with Development Studies and History as my teaching subjects, from the National University of Lesotho in 1997.

My interests

My interests include adding e-learning into my professional and career development. I would like to share vast experiences with e-learners, particularly those who come from less resourced areas and who are able to survive constraints of the digital (technology) divide.

Professional

I am particularly interested in maximising learning opportunities in the courses that I have with part-time learners.
