Objectives

  • spread info to students in classroom
  • share interesting examples about the type and diversity of placements in the classroom
  • raison d'etre of the Centre
  • scholarships and funding available
  • influence / persuade students to participate
  • to share information about the process, and clarify deadlines (i.e., using text and graphics)
  • to provide technical support and navigational help, and user-friendly tools (i.e., browser, website / page locations)
  • to align with the University's 2020 priorities
Success
  • Interest - many students asking lots of questions
  • Video (introductory) - 2.5 min - good background on the University and CSL program
  • Cheat Sheet - although can be improved
  • add due date
  • Slide Show - appreciated
  • customized to class - order changed, new slides inserted, or slides deleted


Improvements
  • Ensure different calendars (updated) for different students
  • Missing - how to browse placements - (i.e., where does this go - CheatSheet, Signing up, etc.)
  • FAQs
  1. General - how to sign up
  2. Course-specific
  • Slideshow - different look, Arial font, remove black, enable hyperlinked image / video
  • Quote of success stories, photos - 1 to start
  • Contact Professor to clarify objectives, and make the presentation more interesting to students
  • speak about Centre's role / mandate
  • Send Profs presentations beforehand
  • in following up, 4 docs to post to Virtual Campus:
