 It was discovered by Robinson and Brown(1953)  in plant cell and Palade(1955) in animal cell . Palade also coined the term of ribosomes. a large no of ribosome occur in cell. Ribosome are popularly known as protein factory. they are sub spherical body. chemicall a ribosome is made of two parts, proteins and rRNA.
